Its just frustrating to know individual event owners are not allowed to create test events/results page now.
Anyway, I would like to request to create a test results page for the below pages I already created for F43 i18n test week.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2025-09-09_I18N_Test_Day https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2025-09-09_I18N_TestdayApp_Metadata
Thank you
@pnemade Thank you for hosting a test week for i18n! Here's the event page : https://testdays.fedoraproject.org/testday/5 There's gonna be a magazine article to spread the word
Thank you for your quick help @sumantrom
To clarify for everyone, this is a feedback related to this ticket: https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/testdays-web/issue/62
Parag, I see you chose dates 2025-09-09 to 2025-09-15. That's Tuesday to Monday. Wouldn't it make more sense to have it Monday to Sunday? I don't really care that much, but it's feel more logical and organized to me, by weeks (of course, some countries start the week on Sunday, but still, not Tuesday).

I am still using/considering the old way of setting up Test Day event on Tuesday's. But since some releases test event has moved to a week period and I am really confused on wiki page title date to choose. Hence in order to align traditional Tuesday and extend it a week and use the wiki title date as start date, the period is chosen as Tuesday to Monday.
Last year also I received similar feedback to start event on Monday. Probably next time I will choose test event wiki page title as https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Week:F44_I18N_Test_Week
Do let me know if there are any issues using above wiki page name/title.
Well, we've been reorganizing lots of stuff lately, and we're simply experimenting with different approaches, nothing is set in stone. In general, I believe we want to move from single-day events to multiple day events, because it's easier for users to participate. If we don't have a full schedule, a week-long event is also fine. Of course, this must also match the availability of developers/owners of the test day, to provide support in discussion channels (not all the time, of course, but at least in general), etc. So ultimately it's up to you, how long you want to have it - a day, three days, five days, seven days. I think it's good to bound it between Monday and Sunday, if possible, so that we know that "this week we have X", and "the next week we can have Y".
So just tell us whatever time range you prefer, and I can help you move the wiki including a redirect, if needed.

This is actually I already suggested in our team discussions, to drop the date. It would probably still start with "Test Day:" and not "Test Week:", to keep the existing namespace (there are things that can be done with namespaces on the wiki, like public edit rights without FAS account, for example - but that's less important now that we submit results to the app and not wiki). We haven't decided on it yet, so I guess we'll still go with the date in title for this cycle, but we might change it for the next one.
Thank you @kparal for sharing your views here. If I need any further help here, I will ping you guys in this ticket.
Ok. Just tell me if you want to keep the date range as it is now on your wiki, or adjust it, because I need to add it to our calendar and also send a mailing list and discussion invite for the event.
Asked in team slack channel. If I get any change response from team, will reply here.

I got reply to wait till tomorrow. So will confirm tomorrow if we need any date change (May be one week later also). Please kindly hold any announcement. EDIT: Reason to move dates -> GNOME 49 RC not yet in testing
The GNOME situation is unfortunate and we currently have no estimate when it's going to be resolved :-( We might even ship F43 Beta with just GNOME 49 Alpha.
However, for the purpose of this i18n test day, it would be possible to prepare a Live image with the latest GNOME packages and SELinux disabled (SELinux is the problem that holds the updates at the moment), so that people could test it through the Live image or install in a VM/spare laptop. I probably wouldn't be able to work on creating that Live image, though, so that would need to happen on your side.
Update: We want to go with currently set dates only for our i18n test week.
@pnemade As a follow-up to this ticket and after discussing with the team, we've given you the creator role for the testdays app, since you're a long-time and trusted test day owner. You can now create new events and edit the existing ones. Please, edit only your own events. On a test day page, you should see an edit button and wiki export button. Please confirm that it's visible now (you might need to re-login, not sure). If you're not sure about anything in the UI, please ask (in a ticket or on our Matrix).

Also, please continue to create tracking tickets in the fedora-qa project (this one) whenever a new test day is planned. We need to know about it, and also make sure we can do the additional tasks like adding a calendar event and sending out announcements (unless you want to handle that - we can discuss that in that ticket). Thanks.
I've added a calendar event. I also scheduled a test-announce email and a fedora discussion post announcement. Feel to do any further announcement wherever you feel appropriate.
Also, please consider updating the wiki page to match it closer to our current template. At least the infobox on the right side should list a Matrix channel, where people can ask for help. It can be our generic test-day channel, but it can also be some specialized i18n channel, which could be even better, if you have one. The Who's available section also needs an update, Sumantro is not going to be around anymore. Thanks.

Thank you very much for understanding my problem. I will follow the new process and will avoid using admin interface except creation or export. I logged into testday app and can confirm to see event create button and wiki export button. I appreciate your quick help and would like to thanks QE team for trusting me.

Thanks for the feedback for our testday wiki page. I have updated the suggested fields.
