#715 Forward test-announce emails to test list as well?
Opened a year ago by kparal. Modified a year ago

I think it used to work this way in the past, but now it doesn't, it seems. It looks reasonable to enable it. Otherwise people who follow just test list don't see the announcements. Thoughts?

IIRC they're supposed to go to both test@ and devel@ . @kevin is that how you remember it?

Yes.

Both devel and test lists are subscribed to the test-announce list. Anything sent there should also go to those lists.

Well that certainly doesn't seem to work.

Here are November test-announce messages:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/2022/11/?count=50

And this is test list:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test@lists.fedoraproject.org/2022/11/?count=50

As you can see, these test-announce messages don't appear in the test list:

  • Fedora 37 Candidate RC-1.6 Available Now!
  • Fedora 37 Candidate RC-1.7 Available Now!
  • Proposal to CANCEL: 2022-11-07 Fedora QA Meeting
  • 2022-11-07 @ 15:00 UTC - Fedora 37 Blocker Review Meeting
  • Fedora-IoT 37 RC 20221107.0 nightly compose nominated for testing

And this one does, but only because I manually sent it to both places:

  • Help test backlight control changes on old laptops in the upcoming kernel

Huh, the test-announce subscription on test has it set to 'discard'. ;( I have no idea why it would be set that way...

I can set that to accept and we can see if that fixes it?

Sigh, doesn't seem to be working. This is in test-announce but not in test:

2022-11-14 @ 16:00 UTC - Fedora QA Meeting

So, looking at:

mailman.log:Nov 14 09:09:02 2022 (1454) DISCARD: <0ed5a056-fb5b-7b37-0ecd-32eac372807b@fedoraproject.org> {'original_size': 4456, 'version': 3, 'lang': 'en', 'rule_misses': ['dmarc-mitigation', 'no-senders', 'approved', 'emergency', 'loop'], 'moderation_reasons': [('Message sender {} is banned from this list', 'test@lists.fedoraproject.org')], 'rule_hits': ['banned-address'], 'listid': 'test.lists.fedoraproject.org', 'envsender': 'noreply@lists.fedoraproject.org', '_parsemsg': False, 'received_time': datetime.datetime(2022, 11, 14, 9, 9, 1, 784817), 'moderation_sender': 'test@lists.fedoraproject.org', 'to_list': True}

it looks like it's coming from 'noreply@lists.fedoraproject.org' for some reason? and that address is banned on the test list (which indeed, I see it is).

Shall we try unbanning that?

Huh, that's interesting, thanks for investigation. I unbanned noreply@lists.fedoraproject.org (which was in the list probably because of some spam).

Hum, still doesn't work. This wasn't forwarded from test-announce to test:

Fedora 38 Rawhide 20221116.n.1 nightly compose nominated for testing
