This tracker is created to track progress of GNOME test week
We've talked about this on today's Fedora Workstation Working Group meeting and we would like to help the GNOME Test days between February 28 and March 4.
@tpopela , Awesome. Thanks for the heads up. I will start setting things up. Can you please help me with something that the Workstation WG needs specifically tested? Any new changes that might be breaking.
We do have two new applications - GNOME Text Editor replacing gedit and GNOME Shell now has a built in tool that is replacing GNOME Screenshot. Also many applications and part of the system were rewritten in GTK 4.
@tpopela The pages are ready. One thing, are we using the Gnome 42 beta which is in current rawhide? Usually, we also have a Bodhi Mass update which comes to Fedora 36/35.. are the updates being built and will be complete sometime around the test week? I am in the process to update the test cases. Everything should be ready by monday.
@tpopela Should testers work on GNOME 42 beta or rc?
There is a freeze exception for gnome-shell to get the RC build into Fedora beta, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2049147
The GNOME 42 release schedule says RC tarballs will be ready March 5th. I'm not sure when they'd be ready to go in koji or in a compose. https://wiki.gnome.org/FortyTwo
@sumantrom @chrismurphy they should work with whatever will be available in F36 at the time - so that means GNOME 42 beta - aka the content of https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-62ea707376.
March 5 is already after the test days, so I don't expect that we will have anything from it in.
Jumping in and helping testing a bit :)
