#68 Selecting all packages in QA/TestCases/InstallSourceDvd
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by kparal.

Our current installation test case

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/TestCases/InstallSourceDvd

says:

{{{

Proceed through install process selecting all packages.

}}}

That's almost impossible to do in GUI. We should propose a doable way there. Maybe prepare some kickstart file?

Good ticket Kamil. The original intent behind the action you list above was to discover user-visible package dependency and package+file conflicts during media install. This test was designed before we were able to reliably detect media conflicts and dependency problems.

Once F13 is released, I'd like to consider removing (or updating) the test action noted above.

Ok, in that case (because we already have test cases for different package selections) I would leave just single restriction - to install at least some packages from the DVD media. Apart from that the tester should be able to choose any suitable package selection.

Since we've already had test cases for conflicts and dependency check, I've changed this step in DVD case to:
{{{

Proceed through install process selecting a set of packages

}}}

But I think [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/TestCases/InstallSourceCdrom TestCases/InstallSourceCdrom] need this step to test the swap from cd1 to cd5, so I added the following step to the cd case:
{{{

Proceed through install process selecting all packages - [http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/test/2010-May/090551.html this] technique is useful

}}}

Please review it. Thanks!

Looks good for me, closing the ticket. Thanks, rhe!
