GNOME 3.8 will be released in late March, so May would be a bit too late for the fixes to make it into the 3.8.x point releases. Can we have it a little earlier?

Sure, we can, but this depends on stability of Fedora 19 testing. Note I proposed X graphics Test Week for 23.-25. April and I can move it to be one week earlier.

There is no reason why we cannot do the GNOME test day before the X one. It is not like X is completely broken before the X test day.

I'm glad we started this discussion. It's important to not just do another Test Day, but also make it more suitable for end-users and developers. We can break the tradition to do desktop Test Days after Fedora Beta release before RC, if this can engage more testers and help developers fix more bugs before final Fedora release.

I'm asking everybody reading this: What date do you propose?

It doesn't have to be Thursday, but we usually do Fedora Test Day on Thursdays, if we find free slot.

Looking at https://live.gnome.org/ThreePointSeven/ any date in March would be good, ideally before March 23 (which is the date of the .91 release)

For what it's worth, according to the schedule the .91 release isn't on March 23; it's on March 06 (week 23).

On this Thursday is Gnome Test Day, I have some task, we need to do to make it successful:

1. Have some desktop developers on IRC '''#fedora-test-day''' during Thursday (at least, you are free to be there also on Friday and help with latecomers). → Please add yourself on this page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2013-03-21_Gnome_3.8 and if you can, ask your colleagues, too.

2. Marketing → I'll send an announcement on Fedora mailing lists today. This Test Day is not targeting just Fedora users, but Gnome users as well. I'd like to have announcements also on gnome.org and worldofgnome.org. Could you ask right persons on both sites to publish announcements and link to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2013-03-21_Gnome_3.8 ? '''pkovar''' might help with the text. Remember, sooner is better, Monday/Tuesday is ok, Thursday is too late.

3. Update test cases for 3.8. I'll do that during Tuesday/Wednesday.

4. Live images for testing. → Nighly images build failed, I and '''AdamW''' will try to build custom images.
