#31 Update expectations on Upgrade test cases
Closed: Fixed None Opened 14 years ago by jlaska.

In ticket#30, kparal noted that the upgrade test cases were not clear as to what kernels from the previous system should be available after an upgrade. This ticket is intended to track investigation and resulting updates to all upgrade test cases (see [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:Upgrade_system Category:Upgrade_system]).

Old kernels are replaced by fc12 one after preupgrade.

Old kernels are replaced by fc12 one after upgrade as well.

Thanks for the test feedback Hurry. Do we know if this is intentional?

I found the following Note about upgrade in release notes[1]:

Note
If the contents of your /etc/fedora-release file have been changed from the default, your Fedora installation may not be found when attempting an upgrade to Fedora 12.

Not a bad idea. Once we have some idea for what the expectations are with respect to the installed kernels on a system after upgrade, I'd love to see a review of the changes out on fedora-test-list (almost like a patch review). Was that what you were thinking?

yeah,I support to improve with the help of public. After we have some ideas or have some modification to the upgrade cases,if we can get some feedback from public, that would be very good.

Since the upgrade cases of all conditions have been created, close this related issue.
