#236 No qa test for making sure that the boot.iso is hybridised
Closed: Duplicate None Opened 14 years ago by ausil.

= bug description =
F-16 alpha shipped witha boot.iso that did not have isohybrid run on it, this means you can not just dd it to a usb drive and boot it.

= bug analysis =
slipped though as there was no test case

= fix recommendation =

lorax has been fixed, but we should make sure we cover it in testing.

Sure, sounds good. Do you think there should be a release criterion for this - i.e. should it be required to be working? for Alpha, Beta, Final...?

it should be alpha, its a supported method of installing. it should always work.

I think we can probably subsume this into the ticket for expanding testing of USB boot:

wow, imagine a time when we could fail to notice this. :D

I would say the current state of https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Fedora_44_Rawhide_20251101.n.0_Installation#Default_boot_and_install_(x86_64) means this is covered - we have the "USB BIOS" and "USB UEFI" columns and the preamble notes that they are required.

We're attempting to automate this in https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/pull-request/451 , too.
