#156 F15 Graphics Test Week
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by adamwill.

We should have a Graphics Test Week for F15, as usual. I will organize it.

For this cycle, we should develop a test case for GNOME Shell functionality, and also use this test case during the GNOME 3 Test Days.

We should also have it slightly earlier this year, to allow extra time if major issues with GNOME Shell transpire. So I'm looking at the March 22-24 slot for this. I'll pencil it in there.

Pages will be:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2011-03-22_Nouveau
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2011-03-23_Radeon
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2011-03-24_Intel

(not up yet).

I propose we move this to the week of 2011-02-24 to provide more time to identify and resolve GNOME 3 issues, as suggested by Johann at QA meeting this week; that'll put it before two of the GNOME 3 test days. If no-one objects I'll switch the dates tomorrow.

I hate trac and want it to die forever. message ends.

nouveau page is now up.

intel and radeon up also. i will go through and revise the test cases and convert them to the new naming/categorization scheme soon.

I've just finished a rather extensive re-work of the test cases; there's now a driver-agnostic template for each X test case, and each driver just transcludes that template and passes its own name as a parameter. This way the test cases, which are pretty much identical for each driver anyway, won't get out of sync. I combined the slightly varying versions of each test case for each driver to create the templates, taking the best of each. I also rationalized the set of test cases so now all of the cases exist for all of the drivers and they have the same set of cases listed in the same order on the test day pages, and use the same format for the results table. This makes everything much cleaner and makes sure improvements to any test case will apply without mess to each driver.

Will you be making new test isos (linked from the test day pages) following developments since the original ones linked from the test day pages were prepared? I guess there will be quite a few changes in response to bugs filed after the gnome3 test day also?

of course, we do new ones for each test week. the links to the ones from the f14 test days are just there as a placeholder.

Completed, closing ticket.
