I relogin quite frequently e.g. when switching between X11 and Wayland (at least until I find an app capable or videorecording a single window on Wayland), and so I consider this a pretty common and basic scenario. I listed more scenarios in the bug report, including being asked to relogin e.g. by gnome-extensions-app. The session is horribly broken after encountering this issue.

Another real-world use case happened to me just now :-) After suspending my laptop while docked and resuming it without the dock, some apps were still placed on a no longer accessible screen. gnome-control-center didn't help resolving this, and so I needed to relog. I was in a real hurry because a videomeeting was starting in a minute, and... logging into a session without a sound card present wasn't particularly helpful. Logging out again, waiting for 30+ seconds and logging back in, just to get a working audio, was quite aggravating, given my circumstances.
