BetaBlocker +1

seems clearly broken, at least for me (in a clean VM)

Actually, I think it's OK if we want to move this to Final. The basic functionality works, and this is a specific use case which is not that frequent and while it can look bad to users, these kinds of issues can be expected from Beta. Reboot and relogin will work around the problem in the meantime.

I couldn't reproduce it and it works well enough for a Beta IMO. I'd support a FinalBlocker if it's widespread.

BetaFe +1

I agree this isn't really a big enough violation to constitute a blocker. The key function (removing the package) works. I think we've actually had similar bugs in KDE in the past and rejected them as blockers.

BetaBlocker -1

The basic functionality works as intended.

An upstream fix just landed today, so it's going to be fixed in time for final regardless.

I asked a few questions on the BZ which may influence my perspective on FinalBlocker.

Discussed during the 2021-09-20 blocker review meeting: [0]

The decision to classify this bug as an "AcceptedBlocker (Final)" was made as it violates the following criterion:

"The installed system must be able appropriately to install, remove, and update software with the default tool for the relevant software type in all release-blocking desktops"
