IIRC some fairly important things use this, don't they? So I'm not sure taking a version bump just as an FTBFS fix is a good idea unless we actually need it in stable for some more concrete reason.

The decision to classify this bug as a "RejectedFreezeException" was made as the proposed fix here is a version bump. We find that the benefit of fixing FTBFS is minor and doesn't justify the risk of a version bump.
