FinalBlocker +1
Well, we approved the criterion, it's a blocker now:
That's +4.

The following votes have been closed:
Changing my vote to -1 because It seems the issue only occurs if you change your user account password using the command line instead of gnome-control-center. So users who don't change password, or do so using the graphical tool, won't experience this bug. This limits the impact.
FinalBlocker -1
I'm resetting the blocker vote on @catanzaro's request (and I agree the new info should be considered).
REVOTE FinalBlocker
@catanzaro You need to repeat your vote.
If this happens only for accounts with their password modified using passwd, it's a conditional violation that's not likely to affect majority of our users. I'd include it in CommonBugs and vote: FinalBlocker -1
passwd
Agreed.
I am one of the reporters (e-mail ilgaz@fastmail.fm ) and I didn't change my password from console nor GUI for the issue to happen. I actually have autologin enabled. I keep an updated Fedora 33 beta in a VM just to test this issue.
OK, who knows what's going on here then. (Autologin and passwords changed via passwd are both supposed to work.)
FinalBlocker 0
AGREED RejectedFinalBlocker
Discussed during the 2020-10-12 blocker review meeting: [0]
The decision to classify this bug as a "RejectedBlocker (Final)" was made as it only happens when the user password is changed in a certain way (that is fairly unlikely to be encountered on first boot or in live usage).
