#4 How to start testing your Fedora package
Opened 2 years ago by glb. Modified 2 years ago

I want to explain how one can add a "Hello world" kind of test to any Fedora package.

By "Hello world" I mean test which runs one command: <command> -help

The solution itself is available at Fedora Wiki But there is not much explanation on how it looks in real life.

Things I want to cover:

  • How to add test: add tests.yml and wait for result
  • What will happen in the background
  • How to see and analyze the result
  • How to reproduce the test locally

The latter might be too long to cover in the same article. Once I get it all written down we can decide if it deserves an article on its own.

*bookwar In looking at some of the older article proposals, this one surfaced. It had not been assigned to you and I have corrected that.

I did not find a corresponding article in WordPress. but if you did create it and want to have it published, please add the preview link and change the status to “Review”

If you no longer wish to pursue the article I understand. Please let us know and we'll do the house cleaning.

Sorry for missing this and for tardiness in catching it.
