@zlopez When you have the article ready to review in the Fedora Magazine WordPress instance, please let us know by leaving a link to a WP preview.

Thanks

I actually have it ready for community blog. I assumed that the beta will be for community blog and the final release for Fedora magazine.

I'm not against changing that and publish both of them on Fedora magazine.

@zlopez It seems to me that rebasing to a beta release would be better for the CommBlog and perhaps an article on testing the Fedora 41 version.

Posting this on the Fedora Magazine would make good sense after Fedora 41 has been released, with any obvious changes required about the beta version.

I apparently do not have access to read the article on the community blog Word Press instance but if you want to copy it to the Fedora Magazine instance we can put it in the pipeline for post release.

Fedora Magazine has hosted the rebase howtos for the beta releases before:

https://fedoramagazine.org/how-to-rebase-to-fedora-30-beta-on-silverblue/

The target audience in this case includes end users, so I don't think this one needs to be a Community Blog post.

Thank you @glb, I stand corrected. No excuse except momentary "brain fade".

@zlopez, if you can copy this to the Fedora Magazine WP instance we can put it in the pipeline for release.

We have to be careful when testing bootupd for now when updating from Fedora 40 as we have the following issue: https://github.com/fedora-silverblue/issue-tracker/issues/595. I'm hoping to land a fix soon, hopefully before we announce the beta.

I copied the article over from CommBlog to Fedora magazine. Here is the link https://fedoramagazine.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=41027&action=edit

Due to the state of the Fedora infra, we will not have a fix for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2312453 in time before we announce Fedora 41 Beta.

We should thus advise users to hold on testing bootupd on their updated Fedora Atomic Desktops & IoT systems until this bug is resolved.

@siosm Do you want me to mention that in the article?

@zlopez @siosm I would suggest the article point out the issue. Otherwise you have the potential for a lot of comments on the article and confusion.
