Hi @rlengland and @joseph , I am an Outreachy applicant, currently working as a Communication Specialist in a Child Welfare organisation, with a background in SEO Copywriting and strorytelling. I strongly feel I can contribute well in this since it's in my line of work and skill. Therefore, I am seeking guidance on how best to work on it, if you will allow me to do so. Thank you.

@mutheunjoroge We approved this topic when it was proposed along with two others. It has been 5 months since it was proposed and the original proposer ( @odisej ) has written one of the three but has not commented on this one when queried about it. Sometimes opportunities and time just doesn't allow follow through on the proposals.

I would say let's give @odisej some time to respond (maybe a week or two) and if we do not hear anything we can assign it to you.

@rlengland I am sorry for inactivity. Life has it's own ideas. Anyway, the article about Jazz and Fedora is almost done.

The status of articles in the ideas column is a bit of a gray area. Sometimes they aren't assigned simply because the author hasn't created a profile in Pagure yet by signing in at least once. (We cannot assign the article until the profile exists.) Other times the person who proposed the article doesn't intend to write it but is simply requesting that someone else do so. We try to move articles to the "in progress" column as soon as we see a corresponding post appear in WordPress. In any case, it is always good to let the editors know with a comment on these cards when you know that the status of your article has changed (in-progress, ready-for-review, stalled, etc.) so we don't have to guess. 🙂

Hi @rlengland , I'm so sorry I haven't gotten around to this yet. I was unwell for quite a while, and I'm currently going through an unexpected work transition, finalising a school project, and relocating to a new city. So I got a little swamped, I had already started but plan to finish this towards the end of the month and first week. I hope this is okay; if not, kindly let me know; I'd be happy to release it for the sake of time.

There is no deadline. We just want to be sure the article has not been abandoned or forgotten. 🙂

Hi @glb and @rlengland , I hope you are both well.

Unfortunately, there's a lot coming at me right now and I've also been unwell for some time now. I don't think it'll be fair if I continue holding onto this. I had hoped to work on it by now but as things are, I am thinking of letting it go instead, so someone else could pick up on it. And hopefully, when things settle I can reach out to work on something else. I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.

@mutheunjoroge It's no problem for us. Focus on your personal well-being and do come back when you feel up to it. 🙂
