Article Summary: Describe how to install and use .NET 7 on Fedora
Article Description:
.NET 7 was just added to Fedora. This magazine article will try and spread awareness about this. The goal is to convince developers that Fedora is a very attractive platform for developing in all sorts of programming languages and runtimes, including .NET.
This article will try and cover these items:

Love that!
Here's my current draft of the article: https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=37714&preview=true&preview_id=37714
Metadata Update from @rlengland: - Custom field preview-link adjusted to https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=37714&preview=true&preview_id=37714 - Issue tagged with: needs-image
Is the needs-image tag for me to take action on? Any idea on what sort of image would be appropriate here? I can think of a few, but not sure any one of those is needed/appropriate:
needs-image
dotnet --info
Any other ideas?
It's for anybody to take action on. The editors can come up with something if necessary.
Logo for .NET?
We don't like to use logos. They can have trademark licensing complications.
Screenshot for output of dotnet --info?
Something with a lot of text doesn't usually make for a good cover image because we like to overlay the title of the article on the image.
Screenshot of browser windows showing "Hello World" output in the relevant sections?
That might work if you can leave enough blank space for the title text to be overlaid.
I added an image to the draft, I am not sure how to turn it into the expected image with title text overlaid.
@omajid I've done a first pass edit on your article and it looks pretty good. I've made a few relatively minor change but now would be a good time to read it over and make certain I haven't changed something incorrectly by accident.
Three things I would point out:
I added an introduction summary paragraph.
The following sentence in the first paragraph of the ".NET 7" section says you can create applications in Windows and run them in Fedora Linux. I believe it would be good to point out that this should work in the other direction as well, no?
In particular, you can develop applications on Windows and run them on Fedora Linux instead!
Let me know when you have had a chance to review. I'll do another read-through/edit before we publish.
Thank you.
Thanks!
Is there way I can add comments to some sentences or words to call them out for additional review? I think I see things that could be made better but I am not sure how to make suggestions and still let the reviewers (who have a better command of writing for the web than I do) make the final decisions?
Yes, that's possible too, to a certain extent - GUI apps are not supported. Development on Linux and deployment on Windows is not a common scenario because most devs are probably using Visual Studio on Windows to develop .NET to begin with. Should I add a bit about development on Fedora and deploying to Windows?

Nevermind. Only one thing jumped out to me in the article - the very first line:
.NET 7 is now available in Fedora Linux, if you are running Fedora Linux 36 or later.
Can we leave out everything after the comma? 36 and later mean all the currently supported versions of Fedora, no? Isn't it expected that older/unsupported versions of Fedora aren't getting new feature or fixes? Or is there a risk of user confusion because they might think a new feature is only going to be available on Fedora 37 (or worse, Rawhide?)

I don't believe there is a way to comment in the WP editor. I would suggest two possibilities. Copy the section you would like to change and either add it to a comment on this ticket with the changes or duplicate it in the article with the changes you would like to make and place some identifier above and below the new section. We can edit it and replace the original. Or you can make the changes and let us know where they are.
If there are issues with developing on Linux and deploying on Windows then a short comment about what problems might be encountered might be good to include. This is an area I have little background in. Now that you mention it I can see where difficulties might exist. Being explicit about this would be a good idea.
I'll remove the "36 or later" part of the sentence. Good point.
I added a line about developing on Fedora but deploying on Windows.
Please let me know if there's any other changes I should make.
@omajid I think the article is in good shape. I've scheduled it for publication tomorrow, 27 january.
Thanks for your contribution and feel free to add more to the Fedora Magazine if you find a topics that interests you.
