How much other stuff does this pull in? Perhaps midori or something lighter would be good?

Not too much, it pulls in epiphany, epiphany-runtime, libhandy and libdazzle.

We chose epiphany because of previous issues with Midori when it was included with Xfce and epiphany looks to be more maintained.

Cool. Do note that they re-wrote midori recently and it's much more active than before... but sounds like epiphany is fine based on that.

Note, bug was accepted as a release blocker now.
