#396 GTK Flatpak Apps not honouring Breeze-GTK (Kinoite 39)
Closed: Fixed 2 months ago by siosm. Opened 3 months ago by mattm.

has there been a change around GTK-Breeze in Kinoite 39? I notice all my GTK flatpaks are not honoring breeze-gtk anymore - they also are behaving like the are on gnome, not rendering a maximise button

flatpak of breeze-gtk installed from flathub
org.gtk.Gtk3theme.Breeze 3.22 i flathub

I tried issuing flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-config/gtk-3.0:ro which was an older way of giving flatpaks access to the system breeze gtk theme (not certain if this is required anymore), but this has no effect.

This has been reproducible on 2 different installs, one machine is on branch fedora:fedora/39/x86_64/kinoite the other is on fedora:fedora/39/x86_64/testing/kinoite. Both same issue

Apparently potentially linked to https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal/issues/1017 (and thus not impacting just Kinoite).

Short term workaround is to downgrade to https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2023-8a95627f94:

rpm-ostree override replace https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2023-8a95627f94

Alternative workaround for KInoite, to apply after each /boot / update:

$ sudo rpm-ostree usroverlay
$ $ÊDITOR /usr/share/xdg-desktop-portal/kde-portals.conf
$ systemctl --user restart xdg-desktop-portal.service

See https://invent.kde.org/plasma/xdg-desktop-portal-kde/-/merge_requests/231 for what to add to the file.

xdg-desktop-portal-kde 5.27.8-1.fc39 -> 5.27.8-2.fc39 in the latest kinoite 39 testing update has fixed this issue

Thanks for the bug report and feedback!
