I have the feeling this is because of the OSTree filesystem. I can't edit the pwmconfig, all sensors detect normally but I have to use automatic mode. This mode currently is way too slow and my CPU is overheating a lot, sometimes the fan doesnt turn while the CPU is at 80°C its shocking.
Second is RyzenAdj, a package for tweaking CPU stuff. I t reports:
pcilib: Cannot open /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:00.0/config pcilib: Cannot open /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:00.0/config pcilib: Cannot open /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:00.0/config pcilib: Cannot open /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:00.0/config pcilib: Cannot open /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:00.0/config PCI Bus is not writeable, check secure boot Unable to get MP1 SMU Obj Unable to init ryzenadj
when trying to set something. Could this somehow be overcome? It is often essential if you want custom tweaking.
for Kinoite there would also be nice packages like fancontrol-gui-plasmoid, which would improve experience a lot.
Which files can't you edit? Why aren't those files not in /etc?

I cant say why the files are there. But thats what RyzenAdj would use I guess. It would change files in that dir, that have an effect on the system.
Could this be made ostree-compliant? It is pretty important, as my fan still is way too slow
/sys is a separate mount, and should be unaffected by RPM-OSTree. Have you tried on a regular Fedora KDE?
/sys
Anything in /sys in from the kernel, so this is not a Kinoite specific issue.

Please file a bug for the kernel or for the correct package.
Thanks for the explanations! I will report it there.
