#154 Front microphone not usable together with headphones
Closed: Deferred to upstream 2 years ago by zlopez. Opened 2 years ago by zlopez.

Hi,

on my desktop machine I have front ports for microphone and headphones, but most of the time I'm using 5.1 setup. So my profile in audio is set to Analog Surround 5.1.

However, when I put in the headphones the profile stops to work and I need to change it manually to Analog Stereo Output to make the headphones work, however I can't use headphone microphone in this profile.

So here are my options, when the headphones are plugged in to the front panel:

  • Profile: Analog Stereo Output (headphones microphone doesn't work)
  • Profile: Analog Stereo Input (No ouput, but the microphone works)
  • Profile: Analog Surround 5.1 + Analog Stereo Input (No ouput, but the microphone works)
  • Profile: Analog Surround 5.1 + Analog Stereo Input + only microphone jack is plugged in (doesn't recognize the microphone)

This worked fine on Silverblue. So I'm not sure why this isn't working on Kinoite. Right now, I'm not able to use headphones microphone on my computer.

This is something hard to figure out without access to the hardware. Can you check if this work on the Fedora KDE Spin (not Kinoite) to see if that is an issue there?

Otherwise, you'll have to report this upstream.

I tried it today on Fedora KDE Spin and the issue is the same, the correct profile is not available. I will create the issue upstream.
