#15 AArch64 variant for Fedora KDE
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by ngompa. Opened 3 years ago by ngompa.

Today, we create x86_64 and armhfp variants for Fedora KDE. As aarch64 becomes more popular (especially with devices like the Pinebook Pro coming in vogue), we should consider requesting Release Engineering to produce AArch64 images for us to reference on the KDE Spin website.

@rdieter, what do you think of this? Should I go and request releng to enable AArch64 images for Fedora KDE? It seems like we're likely to have full Pinebook Pro support even for Fedora 33 for Workstation Edition, and I could ask for it to be added.

This was something that folks asked about at Akademy...

If the platform works well enough, I'm ok with giving this a shot.

As Fedora Workstation AArch64 is already release blocking, I think we can piggyback off that effort for Fedora KDE anyway.

So in F-33 we'll have a number of accelerated devices working for Workstation including the Pinebook Pro, some variants of the original Pinebook, Pine64 and Jetson nano, Raspberry Pi3, (RPi4 should be with fully accelerated with 5.10 but vaguely works without), some of the Libre Computer devices and likely a bunch of others I'm not sure of or forgot or can't currently mention.

We've been producing images on each compose for several months now, so I think this is in good shape now.
