Hello adityapant! Welcome to Fedora!
adityapant
Before we begin, please subscribe to the Fedora join mailing list at fedora-join@lists.fedoraproject.org. We use this list for general discussion, and it is also where the community shares tasks that need help.
These links are a good read to begin with. They tell you what the Free/Open Source community is about, and then they'll introduce you to Fedora: what Fedora is all about, and what we do, and of course, how we do it:
Next, when you're ready, could you please introduce yourself (preferably on the list) so that the community can get to know you? (Interests, skills, anything you wish to say about yourself really).
Finally, could you let us know how you learned about the Fedora project? Was it from a colleague, or social media, for example?
If you have any questions at all, please ask! We'll use this ticket to keep in touch! :)
In addition, could you provide some information to understand your requirements better? (You can write them in the introduction, or answer here if you feel more comfortable).
For example:
your experience with Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) communities/ecosystems:
your background/skills, for example:
your experience in communication platforms:
how much time are you looking to/are you able to spend on volunteering (approximate hours per week)?
Remember that this is not a job interview at all. This is just an icebreaker to help all your new friends get to know you quicker. The better we know you, the better we can support you in identifying Fedora activities that promise to be relevant for you.
Please write how much/whatever you wish. :).

About me: Hello, My name is Aditya Pant. I am PhD candidate from BITS Pilani, India. From past 6 months I am fond of deep learning research with particular interest in generative AI.
I am interested to contribute to FOSS related research initiatives around enhancing Large Language Models (LLMs). I would love to devote at least 8-10 hours per week and help the community to grow and prosper.
Hello Aditya,
I see you have found the secret backdoor to open your own ticket!
Feel free to come and chat with us on Matrix to help you find your way around Fedora.
Normally we open tickets for people, and then they introduce themselves on the mailing list :)
I am happy to answer any questions you might have here.
Currently Fedora is in a position where we have the software pieces so users can run their own LLMs, but we do not manufacture or deploy them ourselves. Their is a machine learning group https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/AI-ML feel free to contact them on their channels.
Regards, Mat

Hello, it's Nisha Chandila here. Do we have to introduce ourselves, or will you be introducing us? I'm new to Pagure and got a little confused could you please guide me? I'm interested in documentation and would love to contribute.
Hi Nisha!
Now I am really confused!! Are you Aditya? Did you reply on someone else's ticket?
The formality is for you to sign up to the mailing list and introduce yourself on that. I would be happy to introduce you, but you know more about yourself than I do!
Feel free to DM me on Matrix, or ank any questions in the Join channel.
Looking forward to working with you, Mat
