Hello @arkit21! Welcome to Fedora!
Before we begin, please subscribe to the Fedora join mailing list at fedora-join@lists.fedoraproject.org. We use this list for general discussion, and it is also where the community shares tasks that need help.
These links are a good read to begin with. They tell you what the Free/Open Source community is about, and then they'll introduce you to Fedora: what Fedora is all about, and what we do, and of course, how we do it:
Next, when you're ready, could you please introduce yourself (preferably on the list) so that the community can get to know you? (Interests, skills, anything you wish to say about yourself really).
Finally, could you let us know how you learned about the Fedora project? Was it from a colleague, or social media, for example?
If you have any questions at all, please ask! We'll use this ticket to keep in touch! :)
In addition, could you provide some information to understand your requirements better? (You can write them in the introduction, or answer here if you feel more comfortable).
For example:
your experience with Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) communities/ecosystems:
your background/skills, for example:
your experience in communication platforms:
how much time are you looking to/are you able to spend on volunteering (approximate hours per week)?
Remember that this is not a job interview at all. This is just an icebreaker to help all your new friends get to know you quicker. The better we know you, the better we can support you in identifying Fedora activities that promise to be relevant for you.
Please write how much/whatever you wish. :).
Hi Everyone, I am glad to be in the community, I am sorry it took so long to respond to the ticket. Here are a few key details about me.
Overall I just want to say, I am blown away as to how everything works, and it's amazing how things work here, I have never seen something like this and I really am looking forward to contributing to package management. It's just that my main reason to even dive into Fedora's contribution is that I can learn about package management and in return, I can contribute back to Fedora

Hi @arkit21 , no worries at all. There's no hurry/time limit. Please do take your time.
If there's anything we can help with, please do let us know. I think the package management docs are fairly good, but if you do find issues, please do file them and that'll help us improve them further. The fedora-devel channel/room on Matrix is where the package maintainers hang out. So that's worth joining too---you can ask any queries etc. there and folks will help you out.
As a final note---everyone is welcome in Fedora. We have folks who are more social and like to talk to everyone regularly and at the same time we also have folks who like to keep to themselves more. It's all good :)
Hi Arkit, Introverts make great contributors to open source :) We are here though if you do want to ask anything at all. Sorry we did not check in with you sooner.
Do you know about https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/ where you can package your own stuff?
Feel free to aks us anything you want.
Regards, Mat
