Hello @milliectl ! Welcome to Fedora!
Before we begin, please subscribe to the Fedora join mailing list at fedora-join@lists.fedoraproject.org. We use this list for general discussion, and it is also where the community shares tasks that need help.
These links are a good read to begin with. They tell you what the Free/Open Source community is about, and then they'll introduce you to Fedora: what Fedora is all about, and what we do, and of course, how we do it:
Next, when you're ready, could you please introduce yourself (preferably on the list) so that the community can get to know you? (Interests, skills, anything you wish to say about yourself really).
Finally, could you let us know how you learned about the Fedora project? Was it from a colleague, or social media, for example?
If you have any questions at all, please ask! We'll use this ticket to keep in touch! :)
In addition, could you provide some information to understand your requirements better? (You can write them in the introduction, or answer here if you feel more comfortable).
For example:
your experience with Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) communities/ecosystems:
your background/skills, for example:
your experience in communication platforms:
how much time are you looking to/are you able to spend on volunteering (approximate hours per week)?
Remember that this is not a job interview at all. This is just an icebreaker to help all your new friends get to know you quicker. The better we know you, the better we can support you in identifying Fedora activities that promise to be relevant for you.
Please write how much/whatever you wish. :).

I hope this is somewhat readable, please let me know if it isn't and I'll try to rewrite it :)
your experience with Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) communities/ecosystems 1.1. have you participated in FOSS before, or is this the first time? I have participated a little bit in the chrultrabook community but I wasn't engaged in any development as it wasn't very open and I didn't know where to start
1.2. how do you imagine your place in a FOSS community? Tough one. Ideally I see myself as the one tangled in the cables and upkeeping the infrastructure but I am not too picky :)
your background/skills, for example: 2.1. community development and outreach, campaigning, journalism Unfortunately not - my biggest outreach would be advocating Linux at work, between friends and my SO (who has dropped Windows altogether!).
2.2. Operating System (Do you use GNU/Linux as your main OS? Is Fedora Linux your main distribution?) GNU/Linux is my main OS. I've been testing out NixOS on my desktops recently and I'm restructuring some things at home and in my homelab but all my new deployments are based on Fedora Workstation/Server so don't worry about that one :D
2.3. non-software development: design (Inkscape/Gimp/?), music/video/podcasting, marketing, language proficiency 2.3.1 mostly none, sorry :( 2.3.4 language proficiency: I am fluent in English with my native language being Polish and I used to translate some Windows software in the past for my father.
2.4. software development related: command line, version control: git/hg/svn/?, rpm/packaging, programming languages/frameworks/utilities, testing, infrastructure/sysadmin
2.4.1 command line: very much so, can't live without it 2.4.2 git: some basic experience while trying to upkeep my NixOS configuration with a git repo but that was very eye-opening 2.4.3 rpm/packaging: I used to package sway and other packages for myself at my last job for RHEL8 because I refused to run GNOME on severely underpowered hardware :( 2.4.4 programming languages/frameworks/utilities: some C++, C# and Python but I wouldn't call myself a programmer - but I'm willing to actually put in some effort to learn! ^^ 2.4.5 testing: none 2.4.6 infrastructure/sysadmin: this is my $DAYJOB - building custom RHEL installers/images, installing on physical hardware, fixing non-booting systems, patching systems, automating with Ansible - I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty :)
2.5 your experience in communication platforms: 2.5.1 have you used mailing lists before?: no, but they seem simple enough (I've heard people complaining about those, especially when it comes to sending patches)
2.5.2 what is your preferred real time chat platform?: no preference, I'm not very attached to chat platforms
2.5.3 have you helped with moderating/administering forums?: no and I'd probably want to avoid it simply because of my autism - I tend to miss nuance and I'd hate to misinterpret someone's words and cause harm (it has happened before)
how much time are you looking to/are you able to spend on volunteering (approximate hours per week)?: I'm looking to volunteer for at least 6 hours a week!

Not sure what happened but I think my several attempts to preview/edit my reply reset the assignee and untagged the ticket, apologies ><

Hi folks, I'm just pinging that I'm still alive and looking to contribute in the future but as of right now I have to take care of my mental health which has, unfortunately, significantly declined as of recent.
Hi milliectl,
Hope all is not too bad.
If you would still like to contribute to Fedora now or in the future we will welcome you.
Let us know if you need anything at with Fedora or if you want us to not contact you again (you can always sign up again at any time)
Regards, Mat
