#75 Welcome to Fedora bigghe
Opened 7 months ago by alciregi. Modified a month ago

Hello @bigghe! Welcome to Fedora!

Before we begin, please subscribe to the Fedora join mailing list at
fedora-join@lists.fedoraproject.org
.
We use this list for general discussion, and it is also where the community
shares tasks that need help.

Then, could you please introduce yourself (preferably on the list) so that the
community can get to know you? (interests, skills, anything you wish to say
about yourself really)

In the meantime, these links would be a good read. They tell you what the
Free/Open Source community is about, and then they'll introduce you to Fedora:
what Fedora is all about, and what we do, and of course, how we do it:

If you have any questions at all, please ask! We'll use this ticket to keep in
touch! :)

Hi @alciregi

thanks for the ticket!
I took some days in order to read some links and starting to understand a little bit how the community works.

I sent my self introduction email, it's here: Self introduction email.

Can you give me some hints in order to proceed?

Thanks again,
Mauro

Can you give me some hints in order to proceed?

Once you are done with exploring the links provided in the ticket, I'd suggest hanging around in the mailing lists and Telegram/IRC groups to find how the tasks are performed and about the fields where you can be useful. Do note that finding something that you would generally love doing takes some time so exploration is appreciated.

Thanks @t0xic0der for the hint, it's what I'll do!

I already sent some emails to both cloud and infrastructure mailing list, then I'll keep my eyes open in order to understand how be involved.

Anyway I'll take the time needed!

Hello @bigghe, how are you?
You could also subscribe the Italian users mailing list. It is not very active nowadays, btw. But we could start to think to (re)create an active Italian community.
There is also a Telegram group, but it is more a users group and there people are not very involved in the Fedora Project.

Hello @bigghe
I've spotted that you unsubscribed from the join mailing list.
First of all, you are free to do that :-) But out of curiosity, have you decided to step down from your intent to contribute to the Fedora Project? If so, are you willing to share your thoughts and impressions?
Or simply, have you found something interesting and you don't need to stay in such mailing list anymore?
Thanks.

Hi @bigghe,

It has been a while since the last time we heard from you. I hope you are doing well and I just dropped by to see if you have found something interesting to work on. :-)

We love interacting so please feel free to reach out to us if there are any questions/concerns that you may have regarding how you can contribute to our projects.

I have added Progress Check 1 (with reference to @alciregi reaching out with https://pagure.io/fedora-join/Welcome-to-Fedora/issue/75#comment-719102) and Progress Check 2 (with reference to me reaching with https://pagure.io/fedora-join/Welcome-to-Fedora/issue/75#comment-734320)

Hey there,

Please note that this is the final progress check we are making from our end - failing to respond to in seven days of which - we would close this ticket. Don't worry though - we understand that there can be circumstances due to which you are unable to devote time but you can come back later too and continue contributing from wherever you left off.
