#221 Possible Classroom : Fedora QA Writing test cases for packages
Closed: Invalid a year ago by ankursinha. Opened 3 years ago by sumantrom.

Hey Fedora Join,

I'd like to propose and schedule (mid Sept/as soon as possible) a classroom on how to get started with Fedora QA by writing test cases of crit-path packages. As most of you might know, Fedora IoT is now going to be an edition which means, there is going to be a significant amount of package testing required for both regular rpm and os-tree based dists.
Having more contributors to start writing some of these tests will be great.

Please let me know what you think and most importantly when can we have this session

Thank you @sumantrom for opening this ticket, It sounds like an excellent Classroom, which I will love to attend.

On Scheduling it, It pretty much depends on the Sensei (Teacher) and we schedule it according to their availability and having enough time for a Magazine Post and some marketing.

How about first Saturday of September, 5th September ?

+1, I've finally learned how to do it, but a classroom would really help lots of packagers also add cases for their packages

Can we have this session on the Friday 18th?

Its a good time to learn how the package test cases work and we have a lot of test days coming up, will help folks join the Fedora project

WDYT?

Sure--what time on 18th works for you @sumantrom ?

the next steps would be to draft announcements. Since this is for package maintainers, I guess a commblog post is in order, along with an announcement to the -devel-announce ML?

@nasirhm would you have time to draft an announcement in the next few days by any chance? Then @sumantrom can review it and we can send it out by Monday/Tuesday to give people sufficient time to organise their calendars.

Other questions: what platform will this be on, @sumantrom ? BlueJeans perhaps?

Hey folks,

The beta blockers and the btrfs testing took most of my time. Can we move this to 23rd if it isnt clashing with anything?
I am fine anything between 1200UTC - 2000UTC.
Also we can use my Google meet bridge or bluejeans (both support recording)

This fell off the radar. @nasirhm are you still up to organising this if @sumantrom you're still up for delivering it? :)
