Create YouTube subtitles/captions for "Fedora and Open Source to Open Your Future in Tech"
On 25 April, @nasirhm interviewed me on a Facebook Live. We talked about open source, Fedora, and Fedora project governance topics In the live stream. In Facebook, there was real-time captioning but they did not make it into the BlueJeans recording.
To make the interview topics more accessible, adding subtitles first for English and allowing translations other languages as community contributions would help.
This is a great opportunity to contact the Fedora Translation Project List to get help on translations for one or two languages (or more if there is interest).
This video has community contributions enabled. This means anyone with a YouTube account can voluntarily contribute subtitles for any language. Submissions are reviewed by an account owner (me, @bt0dotninja, @x3mboy, @bproffit, others) before they appear on a video. So, anyone should be able to contribute captions. Someone can directly upload subtitles to YouTube, or they can attach a *.srt file to this ticket for someone else with access to upload them.
*.srt
This can be a fun experiment to cross-pollinate different parts of Fedora for accessibility improvements. To scope this, I propose these requirements to close the ticket as successfully completed:
We can time-box this experiment to two months from now to close the ticket as stale/wontfix, if requirements are not yet met.
Video and information/topics discussed are more accessible for people with hearing disabilities and people who simply prefer reading versus listening
To address this up front, all subtitle contributions are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC-BY), which is accepted under Good Licenses by Fedora Legal.
This license is also compatible with the Default Licensing of Unlicensed Contributions clause of the Fedora Project Contributor Agreement.
This is also respected and acknowledged by our "upstream" YouTube, as shown in the video description, the Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed) license is applied.
I know it is unusual to explain this now, but let's be clear on this for YouTube specifically: we are contributing Approved for Free Cultural Works content also accepted as a Good License by Fedora. This is defined, by YouTube, as "Your originally created content", which includes the video and subtitles contributed per the default licensing of all content in Fedora as CC-BY.

Anyone want to lead this?
English sub-title is there:
choose caption and Enable English Sub-titles:

I think is time to execute step Nro. 2:
When English subtitles are published: Reach out to Fedora Translation Project List to recruit help for any translations

English sub-title is there: choose caption and Enable English Sub-titles:
These are YouTube auto generated subtitles or someone had created them?
No one has taking this on, so I'm going to close this as stale. Please do re-open if you want to work on it though.
