#10 fail to boot on pine64
Closed 5 years ago Opened 5 years ago by dustymabe.

Using the arm-image-installer from the source repo (because the rpms in fedora are a bit out of date) I targeted the pine64_plus target:

sudo ./arm-image-installer --image=Fedora-IoT-28-20180601.0.aarch64.raw.xz --target=pine64_plus --media=/dev/sdd --addconsole --resizefs

It failed to boot after the grub menu (select Fedora 28 Iot...) I get a failure to boot (see screenshot).

more information: I tried with two different microsd cards. one of which was brand new. I don't think this is a "bad media" issue.

Already documented as a common F-28 issue:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Common_F28_bugs#p64-disk-error

Generally will boot if you reset it a couple of times

any chance of tracking down the root cause? Also do you mind trying the IoT edition on pine64 when you get a chance? It never boots for me. When it does get a little farther I see an issue about not being able to find the right disk:

It's one of the many things on my todo list but it also doesn't have display support at the moment which is why it's not yet on the supported list.

This is now fixed in recent F-28 IoT composes
