more information can be found in this ticket https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/issue/1079

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

2021/06/01 or atleast by 2021/06/07

Hi @abompard does Hyperkitty have this feature to easily add a banner like this?

From speaking with @siddharthvipul1 they need to add a banner on the top of hyperkitty to advertise the survey.

Hey folks. Alternatively, what if we updated the default footer for all mailing lists instead of a banner on the Hyperkitty theme? Or could updating the default footer be an option too? Of course it can be removed later on, but it would be nice to make this survey more visible, even for folks not using Hyperkitty to reply to mailing lists.

I think @mattdm did this with the Fedora Code of Conduct some time ago.

So, yeah, I don't think there is a way to do a banner on the archives...

we could add it to the footer, but then it's going to be in the archives for ever and ever... which seems like it might be bad unless we note when it's valid for?

HyperKitty has a couple places where you can expand the templates, and there's one that can let us insert markup just after the <body> tag. We don't use it currently.

Unfortunately we don't have a mailman+hyperkitty instance in staging that I could use to show you, but if you give me the HTML you want, I can set it up.

Hi @abompard, the following is the HTML that we want to ensure being added.

<a href="https://fedoraproject.limequery.com/2021" target="_blank">

</a>

The source image can be found as the first one of the two attached in this comment to the ticket https://pagure.io/design/issue/754#comment-732394. Please feel free to make necessary changes to the HTML to make it fall in line with the styling of Hyperkitty.

Thank you

It's up! :-)

When do you want me to remove it?

It should stay up for as long as the survey is active.

@siddharthvipul1 @riecatnor might have an idea on when the survey is likely to close down and stop accepting submissions.

Till the last day of June
Hopefully we will go live with the survey today

One small change, @abompard - Sincere apologies for reverting back like this.

Could you please make the following changes to the markup?

<div style="margin-bottom: 20px; width: auto; height: auto%; text-align:center;">
  <a href="https://fedoraproject.limequery.com/2021" target="_blank">
    <img src="https://pagure.io/design/issue/raw/files/9073a2548c72da71a9a15daeda63e3c75d55a2a7d25c4ce692feae2ee8aa6bb4-contributor-survey.png">
  </a>
</div>

to replace the existing one given below

<div style="margin-bottom: 20px">
  <a href="https://fedoraproject.limequery.com/2021" target="_blank">
    <img src="https://pagure.io/design/issue/raw/files/9073a2548c72da71a9a15daeda63e3c75d55a2a7d25c4ce692feae2ee8aa6bb4-contributor-survey.png">
  </a>
</div>

The following is how it looks now,

And the following is how it would look if the mentioned changes are introduced.

Oh, I did not notice. I guess my monitor is too small and my manager should give me a larger one ;-)

Done.
