#9660 rpm-specs tarball contain old specs
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by pingou. Opened 3 years ago by pnemade.

Describe what you would like us to do:

I use rpm-specs-latest.tar.xz regularly to find dependency packages by grepping spec files. For Kasumi Unicode F34 Change I was cross-checking how dependencies are working. I know Change implementation has been done but as I use spec files tarball so I downloaded it freshly, opened ibus-anthy.spec which had last commit from 26th Jan 2021 but check https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/ibus-anthy/blob/rawhide/f/ibus-anthy.spec file, this is latest spec with one new commit on 10th Feb 2021. Other example I found is freetype.spec

I suspect is it because of default branch changed to main now?

Can we have this issue fixed?

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

Not urgent.

The script generating these tarballs is at: https://pagure.io/fedora-infra/ansible/blob/main/f/roles/git/make_checkout_seed/files/make-git-checkout-seed.sh

I'm not seeing "master" in there, so it may need a little more investigating

Actually, you were right, the script cloned the repo with the default branch "master" then in subsequent runs it did a git pull but of course there is nothing to pull anymore.

I'm deleting the old clones and will run the script afterward.

I'll let you know when things are working/ready :)
