#8804 Playing with packages app // CommunityShift access
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by kevin. Opened 3 years ago by fnux.

Hi,

Following discussion on the infra list, I'd like to see if a static pages + search engine could be an alternative to the current package app (since we do not have the resources to maintain/write anything ourselve).

@cverna mentionned I could use CommunityShift to conduct my tests

Describe what you would like us to do:

  • Give me access to CommunityShift. I am not familiar with the platform but am able to read documentation.
  • Point me to useful / existing resources when it comes to extract the metadata of every Fedora / EPEL package.

When do you need this to be done by?

Before current packages app blows up.

I can do this later today, but Communishift will be going off line in 10 days for about 2 months because we have to move to a new datacentre.

Done. You can provision apps on communishift.

See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/Communishift?rd=Infrastructue/Communishift for more information.

I'd suggest for a proof of concept just picking a small number of packages to parse/display, not trying to do all of them in the proof of concept.

Thanks for looking into this!
