#8759 External VM for AAA
Closed: Fixed 4 years ago by kevin. Opened 4 years ago by abompard.

Describe what you would like us to do:

To continue integration work while CommuniShift is down, the AAA project would like to have access to a VM where we could setup the software and test things out.

When do you need this to be done by?

Before CommuniShift goes down

AWS is likely best for this.

Can you give me what OS version you would like any any base specs you might need for disk/cpu/mem?

I think our plan A is to run minishift on it so we can have something vaguely similar to what we have in communishift at the moment. And if that does not work, then we'll just install our apps there directly, so latest Fedora should be fine. Since it's for development, we don't need a huge amount of CPU / mem / disk, I guess. Not sure what to ask for.

Sorry for the delay.

I made a F31 instance. It's at 3.133.142.209 and it should have your ssh keys on it. (Remember to at least at first login as fedora and sudo).
Its in the same zone as the ipa test instance, so they should be close together.

Please let me know if you need anything further on it.

Thanks a lot Kevin, would you mind setting something in the fedorainfracloud.org DNS for this IP? Like noggin, maybe?

[smooge@batcave01 dns (master)]$ host noggin.fedorainfracloud.org
noggin.fedorainfracloud.org has address 3.133.142.209

Done

Hey folks! Sorry to open this ticket again (and thanks smooge for the DNS) : i'm trying to install Openshift and it's filled up the whole disk!

# df -h /
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/nvme0n1p1 5.9G 5.6G 348K 100% /
# du -hs /var/lib/docker/overlay2/
1.3G /var/lib/docker/overlay2/

Could I have more space please? I don't know exactly how much I need, probably a few tens of gigabytes? Like 20-30? (I don't know I've never administered openshift)

Also, If that's not too much of a pain, I think the Openshift ansible installer does not support F31, if you could reinstall the host on F30 I think that would help. I wish I had discovered that earlier, sorry!

As mentioned on IRC there is a OpenShift dedicated solution that you should be able to access using your @redhat email. This will also give you access to public routes.

Sooooooo... I've set everything up in Red Hat's OpenShift. So I don't need this VM anymore, you can destroy it. Sorry for making you work needlessly.
