The upstream issue has been fixed, turned out it wasn't an upstream issue but an infra one. During the latest upgrade of the rabbitmq cluster in stg, all the user have been deleted and the waiverdb user had not been re-created since, so the app was throwing an error because it was unable to send the expected notifications.
Running the ansible playbook for waiverdb fixed the issue.
