#8568 New pkgdb group request
Closed: Fixed 4 years ago by ekulik. Opened 4 years ago by ekulik.

To reduce the number of incidents regarding ABRT package ownership, it would be good to have a pkgdb group (let’s call it abrt-sig). Could one be created?

@pingou another group request. ;) Feel free to take it or I can try in a while...

Groups that are created on dist-git and associated to packages are CC'ed on bugzilla tickets.
For this to open, the group needs to be associated with a bugzilla account, most often this is achieved via a mailing-list (private as notifications about private tickets on bugzilla will be sent there) and a bugzilla account is created for this list, but the group can also be associated with an existing bugzilla account if you have one.

Shall I create an abrt-sig mailing list then? Or would you already have something (private) you could use to link the group to bugzilla?

@pingou, there is an internal Red Hat list, but I reckon it would be better to use a Fedora one on the off chance that there is an external contributor interested enough to start working with us seriously.

So, abrt-sig it is.

Is there anything blocking this?

@pingou can you do that or can someone else process this ? I would be happy to do it if I can and if it is explained somewhere

For this I've followed the instruction in the mailman SOP: https://fedora-infra-docs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/sysadmin-guide/sops/mailman.html

For this I used FAS' UI

This was achieved by doing: pagure-admin new-group abrt-sig ekulik --description="ABRT SIG" --display="ABRT SIG" on pkgs02.

Now @ekulik you need to:
- configure the list the way you want it but make it private (as security sensitive bugs opened in bugzilla will be sent to this list),
- create a bugzilla account for this mailing list,
- edit the group info in FAS to set the mailing list address to this new list

Once this is done, you can add people to the group in FAS (they will have to log-out and log-in again for the membership to propagate) and add the group to packages in src.fp.o.

Let us know if you need anything else :)

Everything seems to be in order. Thanks a lot!
