But this returns a 404. I guess this was lost / forgotton in the recent infrastructure rebuild

Yeah, I vaguely remember this. We're in a change freeze right now, if you want it up during that I'll put a request in otherwise I'll hit it up after the freeze is done, it should be fairly straight forward.
This is done. A cron runs at 05:45 UTC everyday and creates and dumps this tarball.
