#8255 not receiving users list digests.
Closed: Will Not/Can Not fix a month ago by smooge. Opened 2 months ago by bier.

(background)
On or before Sept. 12, I stopped receiving digests for the Fedora users list. My Fedora users list account used yahoo e-mail. I was eventually told that the problem was because yahoo e-mail was blocking the digests. It was suggested that I use a different e-mail service. Since my internet service provider is comcast, I chose to try my comcast e-mail. I added my comcast e-mail address (mattisonw@comcast.net) to my Fedora users list account, made that e-mail address "primary", and adjusted my Fedora users list settings so that digests and acknowledgements of posts would be sent to my comcast e-mail. I did this on September 16.

(problem)
1. I have received absolutely nothing from the Fedora users list in my comcast e-mail. No digests; no acknowledgements of posts.
I confirmed that my comcast e-mail does work properly.
I confirmed that my comcast e-mail has no filters regarding Fedora lists.
* I confirmed that my Fedora users list settings are correct.
So the problem seems to be not in my e-mail accounts, and not in my Fedora users list settings.
2. I'm not receiving any acknowledgements of posts at all in either e-mail.

(notes)
good news: Fedora users list digests have resumed arriving in my yahoo e-mail.
good news: Before this problem started, most Fedora users list digests arrived in my yahoo e-mail tagged by yahoo as "Bulk Mail", and delivered to my yahoo "Bulk Mail" folder. Now, all those digests arrive in my yahoo "Inbox", though most are still tagged junk by yahoo. One small step in the right direction!

Ok looking at the logs real quick.. I see a large number of errors on Sep 17th and 18th to that address

Sep 17 16:11:59 bastion01 opendkim[1277]: CD71760FEB18: no signing table match for 'mattisonw@comcast.net'
Sep 17 16:11:59 bastion01 opendkim[1277]: CD71760FEB18: no signature data

However no other errors after that date. I also see on the mail servers

Sep 17 02:08:47 smtp-mm-osuosl01 postfix/smtpd[6289]: 2219598051: client=resqmta-po-05v.sys.comcast.net[2001:558:fe16:19:96:114:154:164]

Sep 17 02:08:47 smtp-mm-osuosl01 postfix/qmgr[3259]: 2219598051: removed

but nothing being sent out to that address. As such there is something wrong. I don't know what it is but we will have to fix.

There is no mattisonw@comcast.net subscribed to the users@lists.fedoraproject.org Did you subscribe to a different list with this account?

No.
I do not recall what e-mail address I used to originally subscribe to Fedora users. It was either "mattison.computer@yahoo.com" or some other yahoo e-mail address that I terminated years ago (in 2014). I've been subscribed using the e-mail address "mattison.computer@yahoo.com" since January 2014 or earlier. Last month, while yahoo was blocking "users@lists.fedoraproject.org" digests, I added "mattisonw@comcast.net" to my Fedora users list account, and made it primary. So my account should currently have 2 e-mail addresses, with the comcast address being primary. But I'm receiving digests in my yahoo address only. Currently, I am not subscribed to any other Fedora lists.

Email lists do not get the address which is in your Fedora Account. This is because people want to have all kinds of special filters in their mailing list subscriptions like => foo+fedoralists@comcast.com or some other item so that they can filter by what the to is. That means when you change your email in fedora account system, you need to also change it in the mailing list to what you want.

At the moment, this looks like it is working as 'designed' even if it isn't working as 'expected'. I am going to close this

(replying to the last two comments by smooge)

Before opening this issue, I was working it with Kevin Fenzi. During that time, I had checked all the settings in the fedora HYPERKITTY accessed via the drop-down menu exposed by clicking my name in the upper left of the page. Everything was correct. On seeing your comments, I tried to check yet again. But this time, I noticed another link that I had not seen before. (Now I can't find that link!) Following that, I saw the e-mail address still set to the old address. I changed it. I'm now receiving the digests in my comcast account, as desired.

Problem solved. Closing is ok with me. Thank-you.
