#8023 Inactive user unable to get password reset
Closed: Fixed 4 years ago by smooge. Opened 4 years ago by smooge.

[2019-07-23-14:13] <mcg4evah> got a quick question: I used to be involved with the Fedora Project quite intensively a couple years ago and was inactive for the last couple years
[2019-07-23-14:14] <mcg4evah> i see my account (mcgiwer) is still in the system but can't log into it. When i try to login with the old password, it says it expired, so i click to reset and it says it sent me the reset URL but i'm not getting anything in my inbox (mcgiwer@gmail.com)
[2019-07-23-14:14] <mcg4evah> anyone can give me a hand with that?
[2019-07-23-14:22] <smooge> check your spam folder and it might take a while for it to arrive
[2019-07-23-14:24] <mcg4evah> smooge: hasn't arrived as of yet
[2019-07-23-14:24] <mcg4evah> but will keep on checking
[2019-07-23-14:24] <mcg4evah> thx :>

I checked the logs and did not see any email logged for this user and I did not see anything logged by fas for the user to be activated. I checked FAS and found that the user was

mcgiwer,mcgiwer@gmail.com,2006-02-11,2010-05-13,inactive

I do not know if the parts of FAS which allow for a user to move back to inactive move after we put the system into openshift.

OK email reset did arrive to user but by the time it did, the reset had expired.

Person was able to get into system after google decided to let us deliver to it again.
