To debug problems with report_mirror I need access to mm-frontend-checkin01 including sudo.

You should have access there already. Is it giving you errors/issues?

The problem was bastion for me:

$ ssh mm-frontend-checkin01.phx2.fedoraproject.org
ssh: connect to host mm-frontend-checkin01.phx2.fedoraproject.org port 22: No route to host

If I use batcave as proxy host it works.
