#7739 Wipe and reinstall CentOS 7 on happinesspackets-stg.fedorainfracloud.org host
Closed: Fixed 4 months ago by kevin. Opened 4 months ago by jflory7.

Delete existing VM image and reinstall a new CentOS 7.6 template VM for happinesspackets-stg.fedorainfracloud.org host

This host was used by a previous intern but there is little to no documentation of how it is set up. The development team decided to wipe the staging environment clean to focus on changing our deployment method to include containers and hopefully OpenShift.

I recognize these hosts are retired and Infra likely does not want to do much with these, but this is a short-term need since over the summer, we are exploring alternate deployment options anyways.

No data needs to be preserved. Only the staging environment should be wiped. The production environment will be revisited later. Prefer to install the latest version of CentOS 7 available.

If needed, please synchronize SSH keys from the commops FAS group for access to these hosts.

Fedora Happiness Packets team can begin exploring alternate methods of deploying project with containers and OpenShift

Done. Should be all back up and ready.

I did run the playbook we have for this:

If you would prefer a total clean slate, let me know and I can wipe it.
