#7638 Request for new FAS group: stewardship-sig
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago by kevin. Opened 5 years ago by decathorpe.

  • Describe what you need us to do:

I'm moving forward with my proposal for a "Stewardship SIG" to take care of orphaned, but critical packages together (I already have some interested people).

First Draft wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Stewardship

For this, I'd like to have an FAS group which can be assigned the owner / main maintainer of those packages (so, members of the group should be able to do package maintenance tasks for the packages assigned to the group. this is how this works, right?)

  • When do you need this?

soon-ish

  • When is this no longer needed or useful?

    • when our sun dies a fiery death, or
    • if there are no more orphaned packages

(whichever happens first)

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?

We will have to organise around this effort without a formal group that packages can be assigned to.

Oh, do please go make a bugzilla account for the list. (The post with the initial pass should hit the moderation queue), then allow the bugzilla user posting.

So ... which E-Mail address should I use for signing up to RHBZ?

And I'm not sure what you mean with the second part :/

make a bugzilla account for stewardship-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org and then make sure the bugzilla@redhat.com user can post to the list.

Then, the list will be CC'ed on any bugs for packages it's commit/admin on.

Okay, I successfully created the bugzilla account, and in the postorius admin interface for the mailing list, I added a "from bugzilla@redhat.com accept immediately" header filter.
