Trac Instance? (Yes/No)

Not sure and I welcome some input here.

Basically (as upstream) we are considering to move away from sources.redhat.com to fedorahosted for several different reasons. We barely know trac so, if possible at all, we'd like to be able to play a bit around with this setup, discuss between us if it is what we really want and then make a decision. I am pretty sure we are not the only one considering this option.
Clearly we don't want to be a problem so please don't consider this anything more than a wish.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Fabio

I'll set-up the git repository in a few.

The clear advantages that trac provides over just an SCM are:
* Bug/Task Tracking
* Milestone Tracking
* Wiki

Also trac integrates with the SCMs quite well too - but it's still your choice!

Take a look at how the Spacewalk folks - https://fedorahosted.org/spacewalk have configured their trac environment, I think it's one of the better ones that is setup on Fedora Hosted :)

Hi nigelj,

thanks for the super quick response. I will pass the URL around for people to look at.

Fabio

Does the name Chris Feist (cfeist) ring a bell? There is currently a group in FAS already named gitcluster (what I'd normally call the access group for this request) with Chris marked as the group administrator along with Lon Hohberger (lon).

If these people would also in the end of the day require access to the git repository I can go ahead and create the repository (you'd need to ask Chris to sponsor you and other team members into the group to commit). Otherwise I'll need to consult with others to find out what the SOP in this case would be.

That's fine. I will ask Chris and/or Lon to add us to the commit list.

Could you be so kind to provide me a URL that points to that team administration? Just to make sure Chris or Lon won't have to spend a week finding it :)

Thanks
Fabio

Okay, the group page is at https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts/group/view/gitcluster

The group is named gitcluster and can be accessed via:

I'll leave this open for now, let us know if you'll want a trac instance.

Is there propagation time? It looks like i can't ssh to either hosted1. nor git.
(sure as hell now i am going to look very stupid because i forgot a step or five..)

I'll leave this open for now, let us know if you'll want a trac instance.

Great, thanks

You'll need to wait until your marked as sponsored and then around an hour for the server to grab the updated groups.

I'll leave this open for now, let us know if you'll want a trac instance.

Great, thanks
Fabio

I think we can close this ticket for now. You guys have done an awesome super fantastic job.

If we will ever need trac or changes, i will file another ticket.

Thanks a lot!
Fabio
