#6970 The base role fails on bodhi-backend01.stg with the call to find out the system's hostname
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 5 years ago by bowlofeggs.

  • Describe what you need us to do:
    I am unable to debug this myself as I cannot see verbose Ansible output, but the base role fails on bodhi-backend01.stg:
TASK [base : make sure hostname is set right on rhel7 hosts] *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Tuesday 22 May 2018  18:37:50 +0000 (0:00:02.141)       0:00:32.724 ***********
Tuesday 22 May 2018  18:37:50 +0000 (0:00:00.000)       0:00:32.724 ***********
fatal: [bodhi-backend01.stg.phx2.fedoraproject.org]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "Command failed rc=1, out=, err=Could not get property: Connection timed out\n"}

I notice that the task in question doesn't have a check that the host is RHEL 7, even though it's name mentions RHEL 7.

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)
    Whenever someone has time.

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)
    When Bodhi doesn't use the base role anymore.

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?
    I cannot run Bodhi's playbook.

Though this was reproducible when I filed this issue, it seems to work now. Perhaps one of the commits between now and then fixed it? :confounded:
