#6467 Does bodhi-backend01 still need 92 GB RAM?
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 6 years ago by bowlofeggs.

Now that we've migrated Bodhi to use Pungi, I'm curious if we still need the 92 GB of RAM that backend01 has. IIRC, there was something about the mash process that ended up loading RPMs into memory and a large game was capable of using all that memory. Does Pungi also load the RPMs into memory? If not, can we reduce the memory that Bodhi consumes so we can use it for something else in infra?

well, delta rpms is the big pig here.

seems to show it never gets over about 25GB and the rest is all cache, so we could probibly drop it down to 32GB?

It still runs with 94GB memory. Shall we try reducing it before freeze?

I think we could take it down to about 32 gb and still have a lot of room. (After freeze tho)

I think we could indeed lower this, but we are actually not at all memory constrained these days. It's much more about cpus than memory. ;(

So, I am going to just close this for now and keep things as they are until we need memory.
