#6221 messages are being held in list for reason N/A
Closed 4 years ago Opened 4 years ago by rcritten.

Messages to the freeipa-users@lists.fedorahosted.org list are periodically getting stuck in moderation for the reason N/A. The users are members and the messages, as far as I can tell, aren't really all that big.

I've left an example in moderation titled "Cannot access Web UI after IPA upgrade to 4.5". I can hold off for 24 hours before allowing it to proceed.

Hey ! Apparently there's a message size limit on this list set to 40Kb. That's why this message was being held.

It would have been better if this was what the error message said instead of "N/A", and that's already fixed in the mailman master branch (which is not deployed to prod at the moment.

Unfortunately, this setting is unavailable in the administration UI. I can set it to whatever you want, or disable the size check. I would recommend setting it to something higher like 1024. What to do you prefer?

I think we'd prefer to keep the limit somewhat low as we've had problems with users posting humongous logs in the past. We'd like to bump it up to 256KB for now and see how that goes.

Done! Feel free to reopen if you need it changed again.
