#6214 Upgrade MediaWiki powering Fedora Wiki to the current LTS version
Closed: Fixed Opened by vedranm.

Fedora Wiki is running MediaWiki 1.19.24, which is out of support since mid-2015 [1, 2]. It would be good to upgrade to the currently supported (LTS) version, which is 1.27 [3].

Yes, we are aware.

However, our plan is to move to the version available in Fedora and just keep upgrading there.

This has been done in staging for ages, but we need some authentication parts finished before we can make it live in production.

@puiterwijk whats the status of those bits?

Is the staging instance publicly accessible?

It is: https://stg.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Project_Wiki

Wow it's pretty! Images are broken at the moment and pages don't load, but that used to work when I tried it first. Two minor issues I observed:
1) Menu should be capitalized, i.e. "Wiki" and "Sub-projects" instead of "wiki" and "sub-projects"
2) Menu doesn't work (dropdowns don't open) on the main page, but they do open on Special:Version.

@ryanlerch ^ some wiki theme feedback...

The wiki is now upgraded.

Thanks!
