#5972 Community Blog upgrade: WordPress 4.7.3
Closed: Fixed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by jflory7.

The Community Blog needs to be upgraded to WordPress 4.7.3.

I have been told that the commblog team themselves will apply updates since this blog is not supported by the infra team.

As far as I know, the CommBlog team is just me at the moment. I don't have privileges to either upgrade via the front-end nor to access the machines on the Infra cloud. Just for my own reference, do you remember who told you this or when?

You are marked as an administrator inside wordpress.

It was agreed upon when the instance was created that the instance owner is responsible for the application, as is common for everything in the Infra Cloud.

I am an administrator of the WordPress installation, but I'm prompted for information I don't have for WordPress core updates (this isn't the case for plugins). It's the same way for the Magazine too, but I think either @pfrields or @ryanlerch are doing the upgrades now, if the Infra team isn't managing that installation either.

I wasn't the creator of the instance and if it's who I think it was, that person is no longer working at Red Hat. I'm in an awkward place here because I don't know any way to get in to upgrade the site or how to proceed. In the past, I thought I remembered us asking Infrastructure for upgrades for both the Community Blog and the Magazine, but this might have changed since before or maybe there were details I'm not remembering. As of now, the Community Blog is running v4.6.1, so it's probably been a while if the person doing the upgrades before changed.

Ah. That is another problem, that should be fixed on magazine for a while already (I know that the admins there have upgraded it from the web interface).
This should now be fixed for commblog.

Oh, excellent! Can confirm it works, I just upgraded the installation and we're all good to go. Thanks for the fix! This ticket can be closed.
