#5944 Joining wikiedit group to sign CLA
Closed: Fixed Opened by acagastya.

To access Fedora wiki, I need to sign additional CLA, so please add me in this group.

What sort of things were you needing to edit?
You don't need any special groups to access the wiki, only to edit it.

Were there any other groups you plan to work with already?

http://whatcanidoforfedora.org/ has a good listing of the groups...

I need a CLA for edit Fedora's wiki. When I tried to login with my FAS, I got a message that I need to sign a CLA for a group. At #fedora-devrel channel, I asked if there was a group for those who submit wallpapers, and I found out about the design group. I plan to join it, but not at this point. I need a CLA for editing the wiki and I am planning to join the design group in June.

No. To edit the wiki you need to have signed the FPCA (which adds you to cla groups) AND be in at least one non CLA group. (like wikiedit, or anything that doesn't have 'cla' in it :)

ok, but can you give me some idea of what you would like to edit? Something related to your wallpaper submissions?

Any news here? I don't mean to give you a hard time, but we prefer to use the wikiedit group for people who aren't in any other groups and have a specific need to edit the wiki now. We don't want to make it a group for everyone who has nonspecific or unknown reasons to edit the wiki (ie, we don't want everyone in the world asking to join this group and then not actually needing to edit the wiki).

Do you know what you need to edit on the wiki?

I am sorry, I could not reply earlier.

To answer your question: I know how to edit wikis, I have been contributing to Wikimedia projects (Like Wikipedia, Wikinews, Wikibooks ...) since 2014.
I would like to join the design team, and also improve the documentation on Fedora's wiki.

I understand a group does not want to give wiki editing access to everyone or anyone, but I wish to contribute to the documentation.

I wasn't doubting you knew how to edit wiki pages. ;) I was just wanting to know what wiki pages you wanted to edit right now.

If it's docs, ok... I've added you to the group. Should take effect in about 20min.
