Even though the default channel for translation currently is #fedora-g11n, some people still join #fedora-l10n. And yet, many people that are starting to wander around fedora channels believe this to be the channel where things are discussed. On the topic, Transifex is mentioned, though we long ago switched to Zanata.
I believe this can lead to confusion for beginners. A quick fix for that, could be the update of the channel topic, mentioning Zanata instead of Transifex or even suggesting #fedora-g11n.
Please mail our freenode contact and ask him to take control of the channel.
Our freenode contact is spot: spot@fedoraproject.org should get to him.
He can work with freenode to get us access to the channel again.
Consider it done.
Thank you for the quick reply.
Spot reclaimed the channel, as expected.
The current topic is "We've moved to Zanata (and #fedora-g11n)."
Now that the channel is reclaimed, should we return to #fedora-l10n or keep it the way it is now with #fedora-g11n? I don't think it really matters, just asking.
It's entirely up to you. ;)
I'd say keep the way you have it now is easiest...
I agree with you. If a large group think it's better the other way around, let's wait for them to show up. I think it's ok the way it is now.
