#5455 New CNAME record for firewalld.org
Closed: Fixed Opened by twoerner.

Hello admins, the www.firewalld.org page has a new home at github.io (t-woerner.github.io/firewalld). The old page at rhcloud.com will not be used in the future anymore.

github recommend you set this CNAME record to point at t-woerner.github.io. But this will then result in http://www.firewalld.org/firewalld/ as far as I know.

There is also an other solution with A records: https://help.github.com/articles/setting-up-an-apex-domain/

www.firewalld.org. 73 IN A 192.30.252.153
www.firewalld.org. 73 IN A 192.30.252.154

Would it be possible to try out which version is working to have www.firewalld.org working without the /firewalld/ subdir?

When this is working I'd also like to request a redirection from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FirewallD to http://www.firewalld.org/documentation/.

This is not possible without reverse proxying.
What you will probably want to do is create a github org called firewalld, and then you can get firewalld.github.io.

Ok, there is now a org page: firewalld.github.io

https://github.com/firewalld/firewalld.github.io/

This has been sent from github for firewalld.github.io:

Your site's DNS settings are using a custom subdomain, www.firewalld.org, that's not set up with a correct CNAME record. We recommend you set this CNAME record to point at firewalld.github.io. For more information, see https://help.github.com/pages/.

This should be all done.

Please re-open or file a new issue if you need anything else from us.
