I'm owner of firstname.lastname@example.org list. I received a moderation request via e-mail. The request allows discard the moderated post by a reply. The reply has to contain a confirmation token. I replied, and got a refusal:

Confirmation token did not match
It kept the offending post (Message-ID: <firstname.lastname@example.org>) in the queue for your tests.
This used to work with Mailman 2.
It looks like a bug, I've investigated it a bit and opened the following upstream bug: https://gitlab.com/mailman/mailman/issues/169.
I'll keep you informed of the evolution of this issue, thanks a lot for reporting.
